It is a programme for the comprehensive treatment of emotional suffering caused by depression or anxiety at any stage and whatever the patient’s state. Depression and anxiety are different conditions, but they often appear together. The treatments for both are also similar.
Feeling discouraged or anxious every so often is normal. However, constant and intense feelings of anxiety and depression can be a sign of a substantial mental health disorder. The symptoms of both illnesses usually improve with psychological counseling (psychotherapy), medications like antidepressants, or both. Lifestyle changes, such as improving sleep habits, increasing social support, using techniques to reduce stress, and doing regular physical activity can help.
All the Mind Area programmes require the patient to have submitted a comprehensive questionnaire as part of each Psychiatry Unit’s initial assessment, as well as an initial medical consultation, so the programme that best suits their needs can be selected.
